Haematococcus pluvialis is a freshwater microalgae that naturally produces astaxanthin when exposed to environmental stress.

The vivid red-orange pigment acts as a protective mechanism for the algae. It is also one of the most extensively studied naturally occurring antioxidants used in skincare.

Rosa canina

The Fermentation Effect

Fermentation is central to the PLUM-P philosophy.

The Davidson Plum extract used in the Correcting Tonic undergoes a slow fermentation process supported by Lactobacillus cultures. During this transformation, naturally occurring plant compounds are broken down into forms that are often more bioavailable and skin compatible.

Fermentation also produces beneficial postbiotic compounds and organic acids that contribute to the character of the finished extract.

Because reactive skin deserves simplicity. We rely on the natural aromatic character of the ingredients themselves rather than added fragrance blends.

We choose ingredients that support our gentle, barrier-conscious formulation philosophy.

No Synthetic Colours

The rich colour of the tonic comes from Davidson Plum. The warm golden tone of the serum comes from astaxanthin and botanical oils.

No Unnecessary Fillers

Each ingredient has a functional purpose within the formula.

Preservatives play an important role in keeping cosmetic products safe and stable by preventing unwanted microbial growth.
